Capital City College: Audit Committee - Co-Opted Member

The Capital City College (CCC) is the largest Further Education College within London and the third largest within England. We enrol 30,000 students, nearly 10,000 of whom are aged between 16-18. Our combined income is £130 million, and we employ 1700 full time staff. We provide teaching and learning on 12 campuses based in Central and North London.

The Audit Committee meets up to four times per year and is responsible for holding senior managers and auditors (external and internal) to account. Committee members are also responsible for monitoring and scrutinising the risk management framework which informs strategy and policy development.

We are seeking to appoint a co-opted member of the committee. The successful candidate will have expertise in audit practice and governance, preferably within an educational or local authority environment. The majority of meetings will take place via Microsoft Teams, however at least once per year the committee meets face to face for which reasonable expenses can be claimed.

The role is carried out on a voluntary basis and would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has aspirations to become a full member of a college or university board.

If you are interested please submit a covering letter and CV to Graham Drummond (Director of Governance) email address

Closing date: Monday 23rd November 2026 5:00pm

Safeguarding Statement:

WKCIC is committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Equality & Diversity: We value the diversity of our staff and learners who come from different cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. This diversity is the source of our strength as our differences enable us to be innovative and creative in the way we work. Through our curriculum and employment policies, procedures and practices, we embrace equality and successfully celebrate the diversity of our staff and learners, who are encouraged and supported to share different aspects of their identity. We are proud to display the 'two ticks' symbol, to be a Stonewall Diversity Champion, and members of the Network for Black Professionals, and the Women’s Leadership Network. Our aim is to recruit the best staff possible and to deliver first class teaching to our learners. We are one of the few Colleges to employ an Equality & Diversity Manager whose goal it is to monitor and measure the steps taken to make sure we have an inclusive and safe learning and working environment. We are committed to equality and diversity, and expect our staff to share this commitment.
