Help Hospitality Learners Succeed in the Workplace at Capital City College
Are you ready to make an impact at one of London's leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a Work Placement Officer to coordinate safe, meaningful and well-matched industry placements for Hospitality and Culinary Arts learners.
About the Role
This role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis. The contract will end on 31st July 2029.
You will coordinate the full placement journey, from preparing and matching learners to assessing employer suitability, completing placement documentation, monitoring progress and recording outcomes and destinations. You will arrange operational meetings with prospective placement hosts, undertake employer-site visits and maintain regular contact with learners, employers and curriculum teams. The role supports London Talent Pathways, SWAPs and regulated programmes by ensuring that placement activity is safe, compliant, well organised and supported by accurate, audit-ready evidence.
About the Team
You will join the Hospitality and Culinary Arts team and work closely with curriculum managers, hourly paid lecturers, the Employer Engagement Officer, administrative support and colleagues across employability, careers and learner services. Together, the team helps learners translate their college experience into confidence, industry experience and progression.
This is a varied and flexible role combining remote coordination with regular employer meetings and site visits across London. The Employer Engagement Officer will develop strategic employer relationships, while you will turn confirmed placement opportunities into safe, successful experiences for learners and employers.
About You
We're looking for a highly organised and learner-focused placement professional who understands hospitality workplaces and can manage several placements and deadlines at once. You should bring:
* Experience coordinating work placements, internships, employability activity or vocational learning from preparation through to completion
* Experience working in Hospitality and/or clear understanding of the industry and its demands.
* Experience working with hospitality employers and learners, including arranging meetings and undertaking workplace or employer-site visits
* Knowledge of placement health and safety, risk assessment, employer liability insurance, safeguarding, equality and data protection requirements
* Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently when remote or travelling
* Confidence using Microsoft 365, databases, CRM, MIS or learner-tracking systems to maintain accurate compliance, outcome and destination records; experience of SWAPs, London Talent Pathways or funded skills programmes is desirable
Most importantly, you'll be ready to make a positive contribution to our college community.
